About

We love to eat and we love to cook. Whether it’s simple food or complex food, we experiment with all types of ingredients. We entertain, we use leftovers and we have small intimate family dinners. It’s all about the food.

To us food is more than just eating. We want to eat healthy foods and we want our kids and grandkids to know what eating healthy is all about. That’s why we are constantly searching for foods that are fresh, local, and sustainable.

Want to know what’s in season? We’ll give you ideas of what to look for at your farmer’s markets. We’re always on the lookout for the best ingredients.

Planning, chopping, stirring…we get our children and grandchildren involved in the kitchen. We teach them how to create healthy and tasty meals from beginning to end.

Recipes we feature have been made by us and tested by our fabulous taste-testers, who also happen to be our neighbors and friends.

Here at Forks Corks and Brews you will find recipes, how-to’s, and kitchen habits.

You will see food pictures and eventually video with our recipes. When you’re making our easy yet healthy chicken salad or our kid-friendly hidden veggie pasta sauce, you’ll know what it looks like when it’s finished.

We also enjoy wine and beer. Both beverages can be paired with our dinner meals. We’ll suggest different wines and beers based on the flavors in our food.

And, we can’t forget coffee. We’re avid coffee drinkers over here. We support earth-friendly, sustainable coffee bean growers.

Great homemade foods, amazing wines, tasty beers, and delicious coffees are all important to us. We’re a family, we’re educating our kids and grandkids in the practice of healthy eating, and we believe in buying fresh, local ingredients.

It’s who we are…and what we love to do.

If you enjoy good food, if you want to know where your food comes from, or if you are looking for some new recipes this is the place for you.

Thank you for joining us on our culinary journey.

We’d love some feedback. Pass this on to your foodie and non-foodie friends and family. Or, have a glass of wine as you try our recipes.

Cheers,

Wendy and Jackie

It’s just about fall in New Zealand and almost the perfect time to visit. Anyone else been to this beautiful country?

I was organizing and backing up my hard drives and came across this image from 2009. I think it’s time to go back!
